Reborn: Super God of War

Chapter 537: Entering The Tribe Of Darkness

Chapter 537: Entering The Tribe Of Darkness

Under Lin Jie’s order, the residential housing next to the Sky Provisions Shop was reconstructed. As the City Leader, he was able to arrange below three properties according to his will within the City of Light. That could be counted as a benefit that the system had given to the City Leader.

In Lin Jie’s previous life, players who had seized main cities, such as Dumb Fox and others, would normally demolish three residential buildings and use the land to construct buildings like villas as their City Leader’s Mansion. Lin Jie never had such an intention, so he had saved up such a benefit and had not used it yet.

Fire Bomb’s Firearms Manufacturing Shop would be finished constructing in one day. Meanwhile, Lin Jie embarked on the God of War’s trial.

‘The difficulty of this mission is quite high. Maybe after I finish it, I might be able to obtain the Heritage Mystic Skill Book of the God of War,’ thought Lin Jie.

Currently, the grades of most players’ Mystic Skill Books were Bronze and Silver. A small number of players, who were willing to spend money and were quite skillful, were able to obtain Gold Mystic Skill Books. In contrast, players who had obtained Dark Gold Mystic Skill Books, like the ones in Savage Blade, were much fewer.

Although the numbers may be small, it was not that rare since it was a mission that all players could receive after Level 40. If one was willing to spend the effort and they were quite skillful, they could obtain the Dark Gold Mystic Skill Book through missions.

However, the Dark Gold Mystic Skill Book was not what Lin Jie was seeking! Lin Jie wanted the God of War’s skills from the start. Now, it was undoubtedly a great opportunity!

The Tribe, to Guild players, was a barren land that was fraught with dangers. However, it was also a place where one was able to get rich! As the saying went, “Wealth is obtained through risks”. After entering the Tribe, not only could one obtain huge amounts of Commendation Signets, what was more important was the various specialties in the Tribe. Those were the items that were truly worth a fortune!

Lin Jie rode his warhorse and gradually reached the boundary of the Guild and Tribe. It was also the map where Lin Jie had bought a large number of Hermit Helmets when he had first created Brotherhood.

“Boss Lone Wolf!”

“Welcome, boss!”

In that desert were three Brotherhood members. These members were players that had been staying there to buy the Hermit Helmets. Although their jobs were extremely dull and boring, their monthly wage was quite good, so these few players also enjoyed the leisure.

What each person pursued when playing games was different—to them, staying in a fixed spot waiting for the respawn was the best way to spend their time. If they felt bored, they would go offline to watch a few movies.

Lin Jie gradually advanced. At the edge of the desert, there was a layer of a barrier. The current expansion pack had not yet released the battle between the two sides, so technically, there were no interactions between Guild and Tribe—it was like they were from different servers. Only after the battle between the two had begun, would war engulf the New Age, and many wild maps would become a real battlefield.

In front of Lin Jie was the boundary, which split the two sides. Normally, players were unable to pass through them.

At that moment, the small elf suddenly awakened and fluttered towards the barrier. Instantly, like a stone was thrown into a calm water surface, the barrier spread like ripples on the water. Lin Jie immediately charged towards the center.

Kaboom—

The world suddenly changed. All Lin Jie did was to take a step for the whole world to transform into another look altogether instantaneously.

The vast expanse of wasteland was filled with sand-rocks, not even a blade of grass could be seen growing on the fiery-red rocks. The sky was dark brown, and the scorching sun baked the ground until it seemed like it had almost melted. Thick-skinned Kodo beasts, the size of a small mountain, lumbered in their walks. They occasionally used their sharp teeth to stab into the ground to dig out an almost withered grass root and swallow it.

That was the Tribe!

As compared to the Guild, the Tribe was simply the Gobi Desert—it was an extreme environment! That was also the reason in the background story why the Tribe had immediately started a war with the Guild once they had encountered one another—it was to obtain a suitable land to survive.

The Tribe’s races survived in such a harsh environment, so they had a stronger physique than Guild players! The Tribe players had one to two additional racial traits as compared to Guild players, and their strength growth was higher by 0.2. They would obtain an additional 5 Strength Stats every 10 levels raised. That was the compensation to Tribe players, and the price was that it was difficult for Tribe players to learn advanced skills like Magic.

Ding~

—’You have arrived at the land of the Tribe [Bloodstain Wasteland]. You have received the achievement [Fearless Pioneer] and 10 Strength Stat Points.’

—’Dear Guild player, there will be many inconveniences for you to walk around the Tribe. You are advised to read the camp rules first before you decide whether to explore the map of the opposite camp.’

‘Although it’s not the first time coming here, such a scene still gets people pumped up.’ Lin Jie could not help but smile. In Lin Jie’s previous life, his title of Battle Emperor had gradually been formed from the battle of attacking the Tribe. The time spent dealing with the Tribe could be compared to the time in the Guild! Lin Jie had always liked using methods such as killing and battle achievements to prove himself. It was much simpler than playing mind games with others.

Lin Jie took a look at the mission progress.

The mission’s contents were straightforward: The God of War had wanted to destroy the divine equipment [Fallen], but General Alpistin stopped him, so Lin Jie’s mission was to complete the God of War’s unfulfilled wish. Therefore, one had to answer the following question: What exactly did the God of War’s unfulfilled wish want players to do? To get back the face lost due to Alpistin? Or for the player to go and destroy the divine equipment [Fallen]?

No matter what, Lin Jie had to obtain some information regarding the Tribe first!

In Lin Jie’s previous life, his main activity in the Tribe had been killing people, killing people, and killing people. He was really not good at gathering information. However, there was a principle that must be followed— to not come in contact with players as far as possible. Players were different from NPCs, NPCs could be silenced once they were killed, but once a Tribe player learned that a player from the Guild had barged into the Tribe, then the consequences would be dire!

After pondering for a while, Lin Jie removed his Lone Wolf Helmet.

‘Alpistin is an Undead General, so let’s start from him! This is the Bloodstain Wasteland and the main city of Undead and Orcs. The Royal Capital of Darkness is here. I’ll go and kill a few messengers to obtain some information first.’ Lin Jie decided on his plan of action. According to what he knew, that divine equipment named Fallen was like the Tower of Light in the City of Light, and it could be deemed as the city’s treasure. Theoretically, it should be in the center of the Royal Capital of Darkness.

Only an idiot would barge into the Royal Capital of Darkness forcibly to snatch the divine equipment. The guards of the Tribe were even crueler than the guards in Guild. The Paladin guards in the Guild would, at most, throw one into jail, while the Warriors in the Tribe would directly chop the players that committed a crime to death with an axe. How many crimes the player had committed would decide how many chops they would receive. In Lin Jie’s previous life, there had been rumors that in the early stage, Tribe players had been brutally chopped back to level 0.

“Messenger...” mumbled Lin Jie.

...

At the Royal Capital of Darkness.

“Brother Dark King, a Dark Gold mission has been refreshed on the mission board, will you be taking a look at it?”

On the streets, an Orc player with dark red skin and wearing magnificent Dark Gold Barbarian Greaves was listening to his subordinate reporting. That person was called Dark Craze, nicknamed Dark King, and was the team leader of one of the strongest guild’s eight teams, Blood-Sucking, in the Royal Capital of Darkness. Dark Craze’s appearance was extremely bold. His greaves only covered the part where his heart was and exposed hideous blood-red muscles.

“Mission list?” Dark King was slightly surprised. The Tribe’s missions were mostly released in the mission board, and players had to pay money to the NPC chief every day in exchange for a chance to accept missions within the main city. The Tribe was at the mercy of the chief’s dictatorship, but correspondingly, those players that made a name for themselves in the Tribe would have power and influence.

On the mission board, there would be up to 10,000 missions refreshed every day. However, even if there were Dark Gold missions, normal players would not be able to accept as their statuses were not high enough!

Dark King immediately headed to the mission board. Countless normal players were squeezing in front of the mission board. When facing these people, Dark Gold could not help but show a shred of contempt and disdain on his face. As expected, there was a Dark Gold mission: [Escorting Messenger]. The mission content was to escort an Undead Messenger to a frontier town. The rewards were rich—it was a [Blood Vigor Pedicle], which could strengthen one’s body.

To explain that, the unique system, which Tribe players had, must be mentioned— Physical Strengthening. Due to the harsh environment’s influence, the difficulty of Tribe players raising their levels was extremely high, and the monsters were mainly mutated ferocious beasts. It was relatively hard for equipment to be dropped, too, unless it was clearing dungeons. However, the dungeons in the Tribe had to mainly be f*cking natural worlds, meaning that most of the monsters were prehistoric ones.

Therefore, the main method for Tribe players to increase their strength was through physical strengthening. For example, Blood Vigor Pedicle, after using it with the correct method, it could raise one’s health bar by 200 points. It could be said to be the best of the best! If it were sold in the Auction House, the price would skyrocket! Naturally, it would be even more difficult to obtain such an item in the Guild.

In Lin Jie’s previous life, the first time when the Guild and Tribe had battled, all the Guild players had been astonished as Tribe players had been no different than humanoid meat grinders that would charge towards them without hesitation! Had it not been for the Mages in the Guild, who had unleashed their powerful battling strength, most likely, the Guild players would have been overwhelmed! Afterward, the Guild players had started to absorb the Tribe’s physical strengthening items, while the Tribe players had also started to obtain Skill Books. Both sides had absorbed the items of the other side and grown in strength.

What was one of The New Age’s charms? Of course, a totally different gameplay that exceeded the traditional pattern!

“While the other team leaders are not around, I’ll accept this mission!” Dark King licked his lips. Such a mission would only appear once in around half a month, and being able to accept it or not was another question. Now, it was his!

‘The other team leaders are most likely wandering out in the wild trying to see if they can find some rare physical strengthening materials, or if they can encounter some NPCs that were about to die, right? Hahaha...’

Dark King accepted the mission under the envy looks of numerous players. Very quickly, Dark King had arrived outside of the Royal Capital of Darkness according to the mission prompt message and met the mission NPC he was supposed to escort this time, Undead Messenger Eller. The NPC was an Undead Bandit and knew Stealth Move. He belonged to one of the types of NPCs, which best fit the players’ tastes.

“Respectable Dark Craze, you have my gratitude for being willing to escort me. Our destination is the Deathknell Town. I must hand this letter to Alpistin. You must ensure my safety,” said the messenger.

“Hmm, eight team members. Those who are not clearing dungeons or doing physical strengthening missions, all gather here! Clear all the monsters from Royal Capital of Darkness to Deathknell Town.”

After sending a message in the team channel, Dark King waved his hand to the subordinate in front of him and said, “Fire, go and release a mission to recruit a few experts.”
