Chapter 488: The War That Almost Tore Takamahagara Apart

“What is it?” Zeras asked, his eyes furrowed as he looked at Audrey, whose eyes lashed with a thousand emotions.

“I found out that it has something to do with the war. The war that tore apart the whole of Takamahagara in the first place…”

“The war…” Zeras mused as his eyes narrowed, bits and pieces of the puzzle flashing in his head.

“If Takamahagara had spread its power among those beings that it had created, then those beings, in all ways, should have a single purpose which would rhyme. Even if they had their skirmishes, it shouldn’t reach a level that would cause them to shatter Takamahagara. And by comprehending the source of the damage that had been done, we can easily conclude that such a power level could have been from them. And that birthed the question, was there a war among them?”

“My answer is that, No! There was no war among them. It was an invasion!” Audrey’s eyes flashed as Zeras felt his mind shake.

“An invasion? Like a cosmic invasion?” Zeras asked as Audrey gave a nod.

“In an ancient cultivation ruin, I learned that eons of years ago, Takamahagara was invaded by an abyssal cosmos. A cosmos said to be more hellish than hell itself! A war had broken out between the gods formed of Takamahagara and the devils from that world. It was what had torn Takamahara apart!”

“That’s unbelievable. I have never heard that before…” Zeras mused out loudly. To believe there was another cosmos out there, which invaded theirs and their battle was enough to almost tear an entire cosmos apart.

“I believe that the war up to now is still ongoing, and the three sects stretch out a helping hand to us because they need more talent in the war. Perhaps there is still a portal that must be regularly cleansed and they need our talent to do that. In return, they promise us an undying realm expert while they gain another helper in the ongoing war. That is my hypothesis…” Audrey said as he looked at Zeras, who remained dazed completely.

‘Another Cosmos. An abyssal cosmos. Why does it sound so familiar!?’ Zeras thought to himself as he looked dazedly at the wall at those ancient words and images. But he was soon brought out of his shock when a hand tapped him on the shoulder.

“There’s no need to pay too much attention to it; it’s just a hypothesis of mine. Just so you know a bit of what the Prodigies War event is all about, and what to expect if you get accepted into one of the three sects…” Audrey said as the light in Zeras’ eyes dimmed and he cleared away his troubling thoughts.

“Now follow me, let us analyze the Prodigies war event itself…” Audrey said as he walked back towards where they came from and Zeras rapidly followed after the man.

Now he was beginning to respect him. He could tell Audrey knew more about the world, maybe, just maybe, he could know the secret to his origins too. And if he doesn’t, then there’s no doubt he would be at least able to give some clues. He was a man worth listening to.

“The Prodigies War event not only tests talent, Zeras. It tests everything about a cultivator. Five major things to be exact. Firstly is the talent. Actually, the talent is not a base for disqualification. A person with a bloodline purity of 60% could also partake in the Prodigies War events.

Unfortunately, no one with such a low bloodline purity has ever been able to pass the Prodigies events. Only 70% or above even has a chance at all…” Audrey said as Zeras’ eyes narrowed.

“After the talent is tested, three most important things to a cultivator are tested. The quality of the body, mind, and soul! How pure those three things are. They would be tested by Prodigies war event, and believe me, the three sects know well how to test that…” Audrey said, his voice carrying a tinge of devilish energy within.

“Once you pass those four tests, then you will be eligible to choose which sects you want to join, and you’ll once again take each of their sect.

The Divine Battle Sect, just as their name indicated, test a cultivator’s battle power! In all of the upper realm, their students excel in pure brute combat that remained completely unmatched through all the three sects. The Divine Battle Sect can’t be defeated in a battle of brawns by any cultivator!” Audrey said as a grin curved directly to Khan’s ear.

“Oh really?” He asked, and Audrey also didn’t fail to sense that mocking tone present in the voice.

“Yes. Do you know that to pass their test. You would have to fight a random student of their own and last for five minutes. Then you will pass the test…”

“Really, just last for five minutes? Not necessarily defeat him?” Zeras asked with a raised eyebrow as Audrey gave a nod and Zeras chuckled.

“A good way to reign down the pride of the geniuses. Imagine telling me to last five minutes against a person who is at the same cultivation base as I am? Just how sickening is that?” Zeras asked with a chuckle as Audrey also chuckled.

“Hehe. It won’t actually even be a person at your cultivation base. The Divine Battle Sect will make sure it’s a person who is even at a lower level…”

“Oh? So they want me to last five minutes against a person who is even lower than me in cultivation. Tch, is this some type of joke?” Zeras asked as Audrey grinned.

“You have no idea, Zeras. No idea of the terror of Upper realms true geniuses. You have to know that, one with a 70% bloodline purity is just barely qualified to even enter the sect.

Some of the students have been born and raised in the sect, taught by Undying realms experts. They possess bloodline purity of 90% and above, and some even tear through that threshold, reaching past 100%.

There are monsters in this world, Zeras. You better adjust your mind…”
