Chapter 665 - Heavenly Phoenix

But the flames were barely enough for Xiaolang to fill up his stomach.

The Six-Winged Fire Bird was panicking and flapping in circles when the black whirlpool on Xiaolang’s snout disappeared. Thinking that Xiaolang was exhausted, the Six-Winged Fire Bird dove down from the air. It attempted to peck out Xiaolang’s eyes, but the latter suddenly spat out the Nine Devils Ancestral Fire.

The Six-Winged Fire Bird was instantly engulfed by the flames.

It panicked and flapped furiously in an attempt to escape. It let out painful cries as it was burned by the Nine Devils Ancestral Fire, but its pain quickly came to an end. The Six-Winged Fire Bird soon turned into a black ice sculpture in front of Xiaolang.

Long Chen quickly stored the entire ice sculpture in the Primordial Realm. If he had done so even a single second later, the ice sculpture would’ve fallen to the ground and been reduced to dust.

A massive presence stirred after the death of the Six-Winged Fire Bird.

The Six-Winged Fire Bird was the strongest demonic beast in Sky Isle, barring the Heavenly Phoenix. As a Category Three King-tier demonic beast, it was even stronger than the Black Water Viper. After its death, the other beasts on Sky Isle were at most at the Category Two King-tier. All of them flew high into the air as they glared and crowed at Long Chen.

Both Long Chen and Xiaolang stood still as they waited for the descent of the Heavenly Phoenix!

The brothers looked at each other before they sprinted towards the nest of the Heavenly Phoenix. Thanks to Xiaolang’s massive body, the dilapidated buildings were destroyed even further.

“It’s inside.” Long Chen and Xiaolang navigated around the buildings until they reached an area where they were no longer black but glowing red. Flames flickered occasionally from the walls.

Xiaolang was overjoyed by how comfy the place was for him.

Fire was nothing but food for a Sun Devouring Wolf.

Long Chen held his breath and walked past a dilapidated building before he saw a massive plaza. The plaza’s ground was glowing red!

In the middle of the plaza was a massive egg roughly ten meters tall. The egg was smoldering and covered in strange runes. The profound runes swam on the shell of the egg, glimmering gold and red.

An intimidating aura burst forth from the egg!

The Heavenly Phoenix is an egg?

Right when Long Chen stopped, numerous cracks appeared on the surface of the massive egg. Then flames burst forth from the cracks and the egg exploded.

A golden globe of fire floated from where the egg once was. It rapidly grew, reminding Long Chen of how Mo Xiaolang changed from his human form to beast form.

The Heavenly Phoenix slowly emerged from the ball of fire.

When it expanded its large wings, Long Chen noted how similar it looked to the legendary Phoenix. The Heavenly Phoenix’s feathers were flaming red with a trace of golden runes. It was nothing short of beautiful.

The Six-Winged Fire Bird was also a bird-type demonic beast with the fire-attribute, but its exterior was a far cry from the Heavenly Phoenix. As the king of Sky Isle, the Heavenly Phoenix had golden eyes with golden flames emitting from them. It flapped its wings, and an oppressive pressure blanketed both Xiaolang and Long Chen.

The Heavenly Phoenix glared at the duo. Rather than anger, its eyes were cold and calculative.

Long Chen was certain that the Heavenly Phoenix was more intelligent than the Six-Winged Fire Bird and the Black Water Viper.

“Xiaolang, I will deal with its attacks while you use the Nine Devils Ancestral Fire to support me.”

With a flash of blood-red light, Long Chen appeared directly beneath the Heavenly Phoenix.
