Chapter 847 - Finale: Zhang Jiren x Li Meili (3)

Tang Moyu's property at Peach Blossom Garden was quite busy that summer afternoon. With their friends coming over to pay a visit, the couple expected that it would be a tiring day for the children.

Still, it was rare for the twins to meet their uncles and aunties these days. With Song Feiyu and Song Feixiu living with their grandmother for almost half a year, they were both eager to spend time with their parents back in Shenzhen.

"Yu Gege, go down! Mommy would be upset if you see you up there!" Little Star, who had grown into a beautiful young girl, frowned at her twin brother while Tang Xiaoyue stood next to her, holding her hand.

"Woah! That's really high!" Tang Xiaoyue said, amazed at how high her cousin could go up the tree on his own.

"You are only saying that because you couldn't climb and join me here." The young boy sitting on the large branch of the tree scoffed and shut his eyes. He knew better by now that their mother wouldn't be upset with him easily unless he fell.

With his uncanny resemblance to his father and having the same temper as his mother, it was natural for people to pay attention to Song Feiyu. Meanwhile, Song Feixiu's personality made her more popular to their peers than her twin brother.

"Hmp! Don't blame me if Mommy finds out and scolds you later." She frowned at her brother before turning to grin at her young cousin. "Yue, let's go and eat some pudding. I wanna try the pudding you made with Leyan."

The younger girl bobbed her head excitedly. Since she and her elder sister rarely met their cousins, they were both eager to spend time with them.

"Let's find your sister, okay? Let's just hope she isn't trying to pick up a fight with Yuan." Little Star's laugh sounded like little bells tinkling. She left with Tang Xiaoyue, leaving her twin brother on his own.

It didn't take long before the two found Tang Leyan and Feng Yuan in their garden, watering the crops the youngest Feng planted with his father that season.

"That melon looks so yummy. Are you sure we can't harvest it yet?" Tang Leyan squatted in front of the enticing melon, her eyes glimmering in awe.

"Didn't you plant one with Uncle Jiren?" Feng Yuan brought down the watering can and placed his hand on his hip. "Don't even think about taking our melon!"

Tang Leyan pouted. "But Daddy said it's not ready to harvest yet. How long do I need to wait before I can have it?"

"Daddy said we need another two weeks, Jiejie," Tang Xiaoyue announced her arrival with Little Star, getting her sister's and Feng Yuan's attention. "But that's really a big melon!" she said in awe once she saw what her elder sister was looking at.

"Heh. That's because I help Daddy look after our crops." Feng Yuan rubbed his nose proudly. Since his elder siblings weren't around to accompany him for the past six months, he enjoyed all of their parents' attention.

His mother was really strict when it came to his studies, but Feng Yuan loved her the most. He was also close to his daddy who always made sure to have time off his busy schedule to play with him.

"We help our daddy too." Tang Xiaoyue smiled bashfully while Tang Leyan dusted the dirt from her skirt.

The light blue dress looked good on her. She abhorred wearing skirts like this as it would make her mindful of her actions, but when she saw how excited her mother was to see her in this dress, Tang Leyan conceded.

"Come on, let's do something else." Tang Leyan hooked her arm with Little Star, grinning widely at her cousins. "What game do you want to play, Xiu Jie?"

Little Star tapped her chin and tried to think about what kind of game they should do. Given how young her cousins were, she had to make sure that they wouldn't get hurt or else her Uncle Jiren and Auntie Mei would get worried about them.

"I dunno." She glanced at her younger brother. "What do you usually play these days, Yuan?" she asked him.

Feng Yuan shrugged. "Daddy allowed me to have my own bicycle. I'm good at riding it now."

Tang Leyan gasped as she heard him. She'd wanted to get a bicycle of her own but her mother didn't think it would be safe for her and Xiaoyue.

"I want to learn how to ride a bicycle too!" she exclaimed.

"There's no way Uncle Jiren would allow you, Leyan." Feng Yuan crossed his arms and flashed a feral grin. "You are too short! You can't possibly reach the pedals with your current height."

"You!" Tang Leyan glowered at him, her fists clenching on her side. She was so tempted to pounce on Feng Yuan who always tried to annoy her every time they met but she was reminded by her daddy not to pick a fight with him.

How was it that even though she was almost two years older than Feng Yuan, he was taller than her? That was so unfair! Tang Leyan thought.

"Fighting again, Yuan? What did Yu Gege and I tell you earlier?" Little Star squinted her eyes towards her brother and sighed when he mumbled an apology. She now understood why her twin brother kept sighing to himself whenever she and Yuan got into trouble.

Feng Yuan's stomach chose to growl in hunger at that moment, reminding Little Star of the pudding their cousins brought for them to eat.

"Leyan and Yue brought some pudding. Do you want to join us, Yuan or are you going to join Yu Gege?" Little Star asked her brother.

This little brother of hers only listened to their parents and their eldest brother and not to her. Was it because she spoiled him so much when he was younger that he never took her words seriously? If she had known that Yuan would be as hard headed and full of mischief as he grew up, she shouldn't have easily agreed to have a new sibling.

Feng Yuan paused for a moment to think but as his stomach growled for the second time, he chose to join his sister and cousins.

"I want pudding!" he decided. He could always try to seek his elder brother to play with him later, but for now, his bottomless stomach needed some food.
