NPC into Player: Let's Wreck This Game

Chapter 128: Hidden Risks

Chapter 128: Hidden Risks

Bloom returned to his room upstairs, while his butler didn't lack behind. The moment he entered the room Bloom figured that man, that keen man had already sensed the changes in his personality.

"Are you feeling alright today?" he said, and Bloom just ignored this path to his secrets as he said:

"Have you gotten their names in the game?"

"Yes," he took a paper and handed it to Bloom. "It's him," he muttered while crumbling the paper and throwing it to a trash can in the corner.

"Sorry, didn't know you will get pissed over their names," Antoan said.

"It's not their names," Bloom shook his head before glancing over his room. This room was considered a symbol of how Terry lived his life before.

"Bernard is Brendy," he softly said, before turning to Antoan and added, "tell me everything you know about this selection process."

The doubt inside Antoan reached a point he couldn't hide anymore. His master, Terry, was never this keen on things like this. The best word to describe him was a spoiled careless brat!

"The selection was done at the main corp headquarter," yet Antoan answered, explaining things with his suspicious looks, "your uncle supervised everything and he is the one to have the final call regarding this matter."

Bloom knew this was leading to a nasty place, yet he was determined to clear things out. This wasn't Terry's life anymore, it was his that was in danger!

He went to a seat and said: "What about their backgrounds? Shouldn't they be checked well?"

"Sure," Antoan was still feeling lost here, "your uncle hired a company, one of ours, to investigate and prepare the background profiles of each one."

"Yet they made this grave mistake, weird," Bloom muttered while recalling the brief meeting he just had. Brendy was a henchman for Derick, his enemy.

"This isn't a coincidence," he said to himself before thinking deeper, "Is the four connected?" his mind settled upon his greatest enemy lurking in the shadows; Dockrey.

"Is there anything wrong about them? I can ask for them to be replaced."

"No," Bloom firmly shook his head, "they can't be replaced," he said as he went again into silence, adding more doubt to Antoan.

"Are you alright today?" he asked again, and Bloom just waved his hands at him as he said, "I'm feeling better than ever."

"That's clearly obvious to me," Antoan agreed, yet his tone and looks told Bloom he didn't buy his answer.

"If they were connected, then my life is in danger," Bloom said to himself, as this probability was too hard to neglect. "and that also means my dear uncle is a puppet in their hands."

And this was a much greater risk for him.

"Can you secretly investigate someone?" he suddenly asked.

"Secretly?" Antoan was surprised by the word, "you mean without anyone knowing about this?"

"That's what secretly means, right?" Bloom said before stressing, "even my guardian shouldn't sniff anything, got it?"

"Sure," Antoan nodded, before directly asking, "what's wrong with you today?"

"Call it an adolescent awakening, I have this sudden enlightenment and clarity like never before. Is it bad?"

"Oh, it's the best thing that happened to you so far," Antoan didn't know what to say except that. And inside him, he didn't buy what Bloom said.

"Can you do this?"

"I have many friends who play in the dark. Finding and even getting rid of anyone is easy," Antoan calmly said, before adding, "do you want to kill someone?"

"I'm just trying to save my as* here."

The instant reply from Bloom made Antoan vigilant. Even his jaw muscles twitched. "Where is the danger? Tell me and I will eliminate it swiftly."

Bloom glanced for a moment there at him before sighing. "My dear guard, even someone like you can't do a thing to my situation; provided that my hunch is right."

"Your guesses always proved wrong!"

"Not this time," Bloom replied, before shaking his head again, "sadly not this time my friend."

"Ok," Antoan was lost for a moment, "what's the name of the person you want to investigate?" he said, trying to get this weird meeting done.

"It's not one, and all I have is their game names."

"The Eternal Glory game IDs?"

"Yes, can you work on that?"

"It will be quite challenging, yet nothing is impossible."

Bloom suddenly had this sudden thought. "Can anyone know the names of those playing inside the game? Their real names and backgrounds?"

Antoan sensed the fear inside Bloom. "Not everyone can do that! With the right money and people, you can do it."

His answer threw a hard rock in the bottom of Bloom's heart. "Damn!" he cursed while tightening over the hands of his seat.

"Is there something wrong?" Antoan carefully asked, not knowing how to judge his master anymore.

"Everything is wrong," Bloom shouted. He paused for a few moments there trying to calm his racing heart. "Everything is very wrong, damn!"

He didn't think of this before. Luckily he didn't yet assault Panty and deprived him from his quest. Or else, things would have gone south for him already.

"Can you work on protecting an identity in the game?" Bloom suddenly asked. If money and relations were needed to uncover someone's ID, it wasn't impossible to have the ID protected.

"This" Antoan paused, as he added, "it's not in anyone's ability to uncover the Eternal Glory's players' list. You are speaking of only a handful of people in our world who can do that. The CEO board of the game is very strict about their security. So" he stopped there and didn't continue.

"So I should feel more secure?" Bloom couldn't resist the urge to laugh, bitterly laugh. "My pure hearted guard, you are really mistaken. The people I'm afraid of can do, they surely will do."

Antoan's look kept getting funnier for Bloom who hardly resisted another laugh. "Just tell me, can this be done?"

"With the right money and people, sure."

The answer of his butler fell like a sweet melody on his ears. "Great, can you do it?" he asked, and this was the most important question right now.

"Alone? I can't, yet if you lent me some support then I will."
