NPC into Player: Let's Wreck This Game

Chapter 138: Open the Treasure Chest and Run!

Chapter 138: Open the Treasure Chest and Run!

Bloom entered the game to find the other Bloom restless already. "Don't be this nervous, I said I will come back soon," he laughed while the NPC glanced at him before heaving a long sigh of relief.

"It's just your name is really strange!"

"Like yours."

"Are you ready to start?" the NPC asked.

"Sure, I know their location," Bloom said as he roughly passed through them nearby here, "will you come?" he said.

"No, I can't."

"Restricted?" Bloom was speechless for a moment as this was only done to high level quests.

And his casual remark made the other Bloom speechless as well! "How do you know that term?"

"I read a lot," Bloom lied, "alright, wait here and I won't be late."

"I hope you return alive, even if after a day," the NPC muttered to himself while glancing at the distant shadow of Bloom.

Bloom went back to the direction he just came from while trying to recall what he saw. "That chest was heavily guarded, and if the words of the other Bloom are correct, then I might have a good chance here."

He decided to use his usual trick to drive the monsters away; hoping they would follow the clones far. "But those monsters might have some tricks up to their sleeves," he was still skeptical and decided to give a shot of one of his rarely used skills.

As he got near the place, he spotted the monsters again. "Lion heads and bodies of bulls," he muttered before adding, "I bet their main skill will be a charge based skill."

For him this wasn't the best news ever. The charge skill came with a stun effect, and these monsters seemed not to have the usual level difference of others around here. "What level are they?" he asked himself before trying to use his investigative skills over them.

"System alert: Player's level is much lower than the target. The skill is rendered useless."

"Tsk, as I feared," he shook his head before standing a distance far from them. "I need to find a cover," he was in the middle of an empty zone; no monsters, no rocks, nothing at all.

"Sigh, the closest thing I can hide behind is these couple of trees over there," he glanced at the trees lying one mile at least far from the treasure chest. "I just hope to be able to move there fast."

Just as he went to that spot and made sure he wasn't seen by any monster, he started using his skill.

"Shade doppelganger festival."

Next moment thirteen clones appeared in front of him. "Listen, you will go there and drive all the monsters far," he said before adding, "go that way, and five of you shall leave to collect all the monsters around this place to meet these monsters there."

He pointed with hands trying to draw the places he had in mind for this battle. He had to make sure these monsters were miles far from here, and he had to be sure they would be quite busy even if they killed all his clones.

"Now go," he gave the order and his clones obeyed. They moved fast in two different directions; while he waited patiently glancing at the far monsters.

The moment his eight clones got near the monsters, the monsters all glanced at them. They didn't wait for them to attack, as the next moment they all roared as if they knew someone was coming to challenge them.

"Are they celebrating my coming or what?!!" Bloom was speechless as once the monsters roared, two of his clones were hit directly by two mighty charges of these monsters; instantly killing them.

"Runrun you fools!" he was stressed as he watched this terrifying scene, while inwardly cursing at his clones.

Three of them didn't move an inch while the other three moved fast. He glanced at the monsters easily killing three more of his clones, while they started to chase the rest.

"Sigh, despite losing six of them in the first counter, three are still alive," he said to himself while watching the clones running to the direction he told them to.

They had to come near him, and as they took a wide turn to head directly towards the distance, he didn't delay to test out his skill.

"Darkness might."

"System alert: player's level is way too low from the target. The skill is rendered useless."

"What the f*ck!" he cursed and was enraged by this. "How am I supposed to kill such monsters then?" he was puzzled, if these monsters were this high in level, immune to most of his skills, then how should he be able to kill them and gain the treasure box.

"Except" he paused in thoughts while an idea popped up his mind. "Those dirty developers they wanted us to evade the monsters and play them, not to kill them," he sighed, as this was the only possible explanation here.

So he waited. "Bloom was right, they are all running like mad after my clones," he said while watching the last of these monsters kicking off towards the distance. "Time to move."

He left his hiding place and headed directly towards the chest. The place looked desolate with no one else but him there. When he approached the chest, he noticed it was much bigger than he thought.

"I hope it has some good stuff inside," he laughed before observing the chest.

It had a lock, one that would need time to open. He glanced back at the distance; only a large dust cloud appeared there in the horizon and nothing else. "I hope they managed to draw them far away," he said before leaning on the chest, putting his hand over it.

"It doesn't open!" he was speechless and just as he put his second hand to feel the chest and look for any hidden mechanism for it to open; a system notification appeared in front of his eyes.

"System alert: Player has touched the sacred chest of the lost mines. The guarding monsters were alerted and are coming fast here. Player has to stay still for one minute. If a player moves his hands away the unlocking process will be canceled."

"What the hell?!!" he was instantly enraged by this twist, and just as he cursed out loud; a long meter appeared on top of the chest, and was slowly filling up.

"C'mon, move faster, please," he pleaded yet the chest gauge didn't move any faster. At the same time, he noticed the cloud of dust in the horizon was drawing near to him.

"I hope others will come in time," he hoped and just as the seconds passed so slow over him, the monsters kept drawing near!

It seemed hopeless for him, and just as he considered leaving the chest he noticed two other large clouds of dust drawing near here as well. "They've come!" he shouted in joy while knowing these two new dust clouds were done by the five clones he sent beforehand.

He watched, nervously calculating the distance between the three clouds; they were all getting closer to here and to each other.

"C'mon, stop them damn it!" he cursed while finally the three clouds met just a mile away from the treasure chest.

And an uproar just erupted at the next moment, knowing for sure his clones were done for. "Will you fight each other?" he muttered while waiting for the result of this clash.

"Phew," he heaved a long sigh of relief the moment he noticed that no monster was drawing closer to here. The chest gauge had less than twenty seconds to open; enough for any monster to come and harass him!

Yet as the treasure box had less than five seconds, a couple of monsters seemed to give up on that useless fight and ran fast towards it.

"Damn you! Can't you be content with the meal in front of you? Targeting a skinny player like me?" he cursed out loud while watching the two monsters drawing near to him.

"C'mon," he urged and once he heard the tick sound of the lid of the chest, he hurriedly opened it and started taking everything both hands touched.

The monsters had roughly ten seconds to reach him, and he didn't manage to get more than half of what this chest contained. "Forget it, if I stay here I'll be done for," he didn't hesitate to run in the opposite direction of the two monsters; leaving the opened treasure chest behind.

Despite leaving the chest, the two monsters ran fast after him. "Damn you! Go back and fight other monsters!" he cursed while trying to go everywhere running from this closing up chase.

Yet the difference in levels was in the favor of these monsters; so their speed was higher than him. They started to close up, and he already started to picture the system alert of his death and failure in this impossible quest!

"C'mon, no quest is impossible," he said to himself, trying to find a way out of here.

The two monsters were drawing so near, and he knew the next thing they would do was to use their charge skills over and kill him.

He glanced back; one monster was already this close to him to use the skill. He glanced at its eyes, and he realized the moment he saw them he was done for!

"Screw you! Come out now!"

The next moment a beauty appeared out of nowhere, standing just behind him. He kept running, leaving her behind while the monster hit her with his charge!

"It worked!" he laughed while putting away the token in hand before taking another. "Come out!" "Come out!" Come out!"

He started using his precious dolls to stop the two monsters, and what he used managed to interrupt the monsters' momentum and gained him precious time to run.

"Time for this skill then," after losing over fifty of his girls, he successfully widened the gap between him and the two monsters to be over a hundred meters. "I hope your detecting ability will be weakened in this range," he muttered before saying: Darkness nihility!

The next moment he vanished, as his body entered a stealth state while continuing to run, yet into a totally different direction than before.

Nervously watching the two monsters killing the last two girls he summoned before they looked hesitant and then they started running, chasing him in the old route he was taking.

"Phew, I was almost done for!" he cursed on this bad luck and the thought of returning back to check on the chest loomed in his mind. "I shouldn't be so greedy, or else I might lose everything," he shook his head as he started running towards the direction of the fallen mine. "I hope what I took contains what Bloom wants," he prayed before opening his inventory and checking out his hard to get loot.
